How do I change the order of menu items?

You can change the order of menu items via the specific menu control panel. Admin > Menu > Specific menu.

Next to each item is an up/down arrow.  Click the arrow in the direction you like, and the page will refresh in the order you like.

Also, you can just change the order numerically.  Just enter the numeric position and click save.

Note: You do NOT need to re-number the entire menu.  Just enter the position number you want and click the SAVE icon, and Joomla will renumber the whole list.

Note: If you use the numeric system, and two items have the same number, when you click save, the item you changed will be ordered first.  For example.

You changed item 12 to 3.  There was already a 3. 12 will become 3, and the old 3 will become 4.
