Evolving Tom Sawyer Into the Human Web

Today on Facebook I started to post the below thought in the "What's on your mind".

What's on your mind?
The human web...Turning the internet into a co-op vs a capitalist pyramid...you realize every time we post comments, thoughts, etc on face book and visit a page, we produce revenue for Face Book. It's the Tom Sawyer effect. "I don't know if you can paint this fence. What have you got. An apple? Ok, I'll let you do my work for me." My instinct is to be Tom, not the friend. But, really wouldn't it better if we all painted the fence and made money? That idea might be silly idealism, but is it? To quote my favorite American at the moment, I think, "Yes, we can." I'm just not sure how at the moment and could certainly use some help. So, if you've got thoughts as to the HOW, please do post a comment.

As the thoughts came out, I decided to post it here vs Facebook as part of my own endeavor to start evolving the Human Web.

eMarketing note: As part of our own social media optimization (SMO) campaign, we have posted excerpts of this article on a variety of social networks like Facebook, Linked In, Twitter with links leading back to this article specifically. Though the social networks are typically closed to spider traffic and will not improve the relevant link popularity of our site, we still execute this type of SMO for HUMAN TRAFFIC as a human may well find this article worth linking to on their site, and that could increase link popularity. Also, we utilize RSS and PingOmatic which of course does help increase spider traffic even no human actually subscribes to our RSS.
