Adsense now in Indonesia - Good or bad?
Google announced on July 6th, that they have invited Indonesia based websites to join the Adense community. My first thought about this is, watch out for a sharp incline in click fraud.
My experience with being an Adwords advertiser is that only a minority of Adsense publishers are a valid source of traffic. (That minority of course can be extremely effective for increasing your PPC ROI when combined with Google site targeting and geo targeting.) You have all seen the junk websites not so affectionately called "Made For Adsense." These websites are designed and marketed through black hat seo for one purpose: generating ad revenue when some one clicks on the Google ads. Through other PPC networks, I've seen thousands of clicks a day being generated out of Asia and Indonesia that are 99% bogus. Consequentially, Serr.biz avoids spending any ad dollars in Asia. Maybe, that is why Google is only allowing Indonesia based websites to use the Google Adsense search box. This will not stop click fraud, but it will slow it down some. Now, on the flip side, this might be a very good thing for companies who have goods and services targeted to the Indonesian population. Such a company might be travel related. Presumably, these companies have established some form of click fraud monitoring. We certainly recommend it for anyone targeting traffic from Indonesia. Either way, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. For more on Indonesia click fraud, Search Google for Indonesia Click fraud and see what other people are saying.
