| Top ranking in days - What's what? |
|
Question: I was surfing a SEO group on Facebook, and some one posted that they are an SEO expert, and had quickly attained top ten ranking for the term "top exclusive restaurants manchester ". Seems like an odd ball term. Is that valid proof of their expertise? They said they got top ranking in just a couple days. Is that even possible? They also claimed that it's a "valid" search term as people are bidding on it in the pay per click market. So, tell me please, what's what. Answer: The phrase "top exclusive restaurants manchester" is extremely granular and not likely to produce any human traffic at all. Just because people are "bidding on it" doesn't mean that exact phrase is even "searched" or bid on. Google PPC can be set to BROAD MATCH which could result in the AD being seen for any of the single or combo of words in the "phrase". Ie. "Manchester Restaurants." Now, if the SEO expert had top ranking for the broad match term itself, "Manchester Restaurants", that's something to talk about. *Note, through Google SEM tools you can check the viability of any given term in both PPC competition, but also search volume. I checked the phrase "top exclusive restaurants Manchester" and Google shows the search volume per month as "Not enough data", which means no one is searching the term, or, at least, less than once a month. As to top ranking in just a couple days, sure. It is possible if your site is SEO, and has significant link popularity. I suspect this article will be top ranked in a couple days for the same phrase. Before you hire them, I would explore other options, or investigate their services and get some real client referrals first. |
