SerrBizSEF and Joomla duplicate URLS?

How does SerrBizSEF handle the duplicate URLS problems of Joomla?

Joomla 1.0.12 has a huge duplicate URL problem.  A duplicate URL is created based on how a person navigates to a content item. If they navigate through the main menu, there is one URL.  If they navigate through the FrontPage, there is another.  If they navigate from a module such as the Latest News, RSS, etc, there even more URLS.  You see the nightmare.

Knowing this, SerrBiz, by default, generates an SEF based off the MAIN MENU. Once an SEF is created, SerrBizSEF does NOT allow another SEF to be created for the SAME content item, no matter how many internal URLS there might be.

If a component, or module creates a unique internal URL for the same SEF, SerrBizSEF automatically uses the original internal URL based off the main menu.

This, is a very, very good feature as it prevents Joomla from accidentally creating DUPLICATE CONTENT, which is very, very BAD Search engine optimization. Multiple URLS for the same content is technically considered SPAM, and should be avoided at all costs.

Note: If, for some reason, you do not want SerrBizSEF to map the main menu internal URL to the SEF, you can change it manually via the SerrBizSEF control panel.  Just click the "I" icon and a new screen will open.  From there, you can choose which internal URL to set as the default.

Note: If you use MULTIPLE templates, be sure to assign the RIGHT internal URL to the RIGHT SEF, otherwise the SEF might not use the correct template.
