Question: We upgraded to Joomla 1.5.7 and are running with sh404.  When a new user registers were are getting the following error.

JFTP::login: Unable to login
JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed

We have triple checked our FTP settings in the global config server tab. Nada.  We turned it off, and part of the message went away, but the JClientHelper::setCredentialsFromRequest failed stayed.

What to do?

Note: Registration actually works, but that message is annoying and ugly.

Answer:
Make sure you upgrade sh404 to the latest build (com_sh404SEF-15_1.0.11_Beta_build_147.joomla1.5.x).

This resolves the problem.

Note: To upgrade sh404 just uninstall, then reinstall the upgrade package.   However, this is IMPORTANT, be sure you set sh404 UPGRADE CONFIGURATION to preserve everything.  If you do not, all of your old settings and SEFs will be wiped clean. Ugh, what a nightmare.
