Should I allow employees to use Linked In

Question: Many of my employees are using LinkedIn. Should I allow this?

Answer:
Yes, of course. A new statistic shows that referrals convert to sales at 75% vs marketing leads which convert at 10%. LinkedIn and other such networks are ideal for networking and developing referrals. Web savvy sales people and marketers should be utilizing as many business oriented websites as possible to strengthen and develop their network and referral sources.

However, as a business owner, you should create a profile specifically for your business entity. The primary reason being that if your business in the networks is only associated to a specific employee, you run the risk of the losing their network and connection if that person leaves for any reason. To assure the longevity and sovereignty of a profile and network, you should create an independent "business" profiles all employees connect to, as well as all their contacts. As a business owner, you have the right to ask for all sales peoples contacts related to their duties and responsibilities of their job in your organization. These contacts should be reached out to and invited to connect via directly to your business profile.
